The AP Chemistry course is designed to be the equivalent of the general chemistry
course usually taken during the first college year. For some students, this course
enables them to undertake, in their first year, second-year work in the chemistry
sequence at their institution or to register in courses in other fields where general
chemistry is a prerequisite. For other students, the AP Chemistry course fulfills the
laboratory science requirement and frees time for other courses.
Chemistry deals with concepts associated with the structure, forms, changes, availability, and uses of matter and energy. This course defines the fundamental understanding and skills necessary for such literacy.
The Earth and Space Science course is a course focusing on the study of space, geologic structures and forces, the waters on our planet, and the atmospheric forces that shape our world. Students will explore the Earth’s spheres including the geosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, atmosphere, and the cycles of the Earth such as the water and carbon cycle. Students will learn about scientific inquiry, geologic time, space exploration, the solar system, and the universe.
Environmental science is a course dedicated to understanding the interactions between earth's natural systems and the demands placed on them by the human population.
Introduction to Forensic Science introduces the student to the various scientific disciplines involved in the collection and analysis of evidence in criminal investigations. Includes the history, theories, principles and practices of forensic sciences in the criminal justice system. Topics include crime scene investigation, trace evidence, fingerprints, forensic chemistry, firearms examination, DNA and bloodstain pattern analysis.
Physical Science is a composite, a course that attempts to merge together the disciplines of chemistry, physics, mathematics, computers, and extensive use of the laboratory. The first semester of the course emphasizes mechanics, heat, energy, simple machines, and waves. The second semester of the course emphasizes the classification of matter, solution chemistry, atomic structure, chemical reactions, electricity, and magnetism.

Physics is the branch of science that addresses the properties of physical matter, physical quantities, and their relationship. Physics consists of studies of motion, force, energy, heat, light, sound, fluids, electricity, magnetism, atomic structure, nuclear properties, and applications.
